Phone was charging in the conference room
A Union woman reported that her cell phone was stolen while at the library. Saturday morning, Sgt. David Lee was dispatched to the Union County Carnegie Library for a report of a larceny. He spoke to the victim, who stated that someone had stolen her cell phone, a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 by TracFone. She said she had her phone charging in the library’s conference room, and when she went to get it later, she found it was missing. The woman stated that the only person who went into the room was a black female, who she identified by her nickname. She stated the person went into the room and then left out the back door that she had to manually unlock. She said she believes the subject is homeless. The case has been turned over to investigations.
